LocalType releases

An independent repository for F-Droid clients. It is separate from the main F-Droid catalog.

Add repository

  1. Install F-Droid or a compatible client.
  2. Open the add link on your phone, or scan this code from your client's repository settings. If your client does not open, enter the address below in Repositories → Add. Confirm the name and fingerprint before adding it.
  3. Refresh the repository and find LocalType. If it is already installed, choose Update. Keep the app installed to retain your data.

The repository index has its own signing key. LocalType keeps its existing app signing key, so updates from the direct download can install in place.

LocalType

An English keyboard with local word suggestions, corrections you can undo, accents, IPA, emoji and saved text. English swipe typing is experimental and starts off. Features, privacy and direct download.

LocalType is currently proprietary. The APK includes Google ML Kit for optional proofreading, which can send feature-use statistics; the client flags these components and statistics. Typing stays on the phone, and the optional typing log starts off. Licenses and notices.
